Eagle Spirit
 
This flute although small in size has a voice of power. She is inspired by the Spirit of Eagle. Her songs will glide upon the winds of the East and help to call Eagle to be present. With the wisdom of Eagle we learn to overcome the obstacles in life and see our pathway more clearly. With this wisdom we are able to dream the world into being. What we see and feel in Dream World can be true also in this world. Yes, this flute does have a voice of power but that doesn’t mean just loud. Her true power is in the strength and clarity with which her songs travel to infinity. She can play as soft as a whisper and still her songs will fly forever. It is my hope that this flute will always shine light upon all who hear her and that she will at times be used to call upon Animal Spirits to guide and teach us. In honour of the wisdom of this special being I name this flute Eagle Spirit.
 
She is in the key of E tuned to 432Hz and is 35cm (13 3/4”).  She is made  from cane that I foraged in Upstate New York very close to a long established Bald Eagle nest. I use a combination of burning, sanding and polishing which gives each of these flutes a wonderful smooth finish and unique colour pattern. The stone inlays are Turquoise. The block is made of Black Locust that my Dad foraged in Upstate New York and is held in place with leather lace from North American Whitetail Deer hide and has Turquoise eyes.The lashing around the body of the flute is artificial sinew and cotton waxed twine. The feathers are Buzzard and Red Kite which as always were found while I am walking with Mother Nature or gifted to me by friends.
